Dance Clubs

Which European cities have the best dance clubs?

If you are bored going to the same city to party, bored of seeing the same people drinking the same drinks then this is the guide for you! Why not get a cheap flight and head to one of these top European party destinations to experience something different!

  1. Ibiza, Spain: Ibiza’s is the party capital of the world! You can find this mad island just off the coast of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea. The parties on this island go on all day and all night. Normally the large clubs don’t really get going until about 2am. In recent years, the music in Ibiza has dramatically changed however the main events still focus primarily on trance and techno music. The parties in Ibiza are ALWAYS different, the clubs are literally world renowned for their individual styles. Take a club like Espuma (Spanish for foam) where foam is shot out to the dance floor and can pile above sight level (if you are going to go, a good tip is to wear a loose t-shirt that you can pull over your mouth so that you can breathe!) After the main clubs shut, then after parties happen all over the island that will open at 8am and last until noon. Even after that, you can head to the beach to party all through the day. One of the most magical things about Ibiza is that when a plane comes into land overhead, people cheer!
  2. Barcelona, Spain: Continuing with the Spanish vibe, Barcelona is a fantastic place to party. A city dominated by the arts, Barcelona is steeped in cultural diversity. It is not surprising therefore that almost every kind of music is found in the clubs. The best ‘proper’ clubs are located along the waterfront area where you can find a great selection of music from techno to salsa. However, if you are thinking of taking it easy in Barcelona, then you’ll be disappointed as these clubs don’t open until 12pm and the party doesn’t stop until morning. Go to a bar first, get some bevs in and you’re away!
  3. Amsterdam, Holland: Amsterdam just pushes the boundaries. In Amsterdam, the party never stops. Drugs and sex are all over the city. In fact, the red district in Amsterdam is the most famous in the world. When you combine the Red Light District with the equally famous Amsterdam ‘coffee shops’, that have menus detailing the various types of marijuana available to buy, you can see how a weekend in Amsterdam can be pretty crazy. It is perhaps because of the Red Light District and the Coffee Shops that make the clubs in Amsterdam the way they are; the parties in Amsterdam are crazy. Parties often go on past noon...
  4. Athens, Greece: Along the beach in Glyfada are a number of indoor/outdoor dance clubs that attract the DJs from around the world. These parties often go on till past 4am. If you don’t have any money, I wouldn’t suggest going to Athens as it can be quite pricey. Indeed, watch out guys as there are also a number of very attractive women who will come up to you and ask for a cocktail... stay strong, as they work for the bar! Athens however is a fantastic place to go out if you do have an extra bit of money, really world class.
  5. Stockholm, Sweden: The longer the night is, the longer you have to party. Therefore, Scandanavia logically has one of the best European clubscenes. The most popular spots include Kungsträdgarden and Skansen where many clubs stay open until 4 or even 5am. The admission is a little steep, but the Swedish are extremely good looking....
